MSCS to Participate in Malaysia Conference on Patient Spiritual Care

Muslim Spiritual Care Services (MSCS) will participate in the 9th Annual Conference on Religious Support in Patient Care in Malaysia on June, 2013.

Chaplain Kamal Abu-Shamsieh will present a paper on the Islamic Chaplaincy programs at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, and at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. In addition, he will address the barriers to religious and spiritual care services to Muslim patients.

The conference is being organized by the Islamic Hospital Consortium of Malaysia (IHCM), in collaboration with Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM), Faculty of Medicine UITM, Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia and Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque.

“Such invitation and participation is an opportunity to shed light on various fields related to the needs of Muslim patients, Islamic healing, and bridging the gap between religious and spiritual care and medical care”, said Kamal Abu-Shamsieh.

MSCS appeals to you for your financial support to help share our knowledge with Muslim leaders at the conference in Malaysia.
